Gary,
One computation you didn't make is the percent spent on imports. This is especially important since the majority of people surveyed were going to use the money to purchase digital electronics: cameras, PDAs, and games.

My napkin doodles tell me that slowly but surely, the mutual funds are ratcheting up... been straddling 0 for much of 2001 but the average on the increase???
