I don't think so, but I'm not an expert. Islam is a continuation of Christianity and that is a continuation of Judaism and the bible has an eye for an eye. I think saying Islam is Christianity except that Jesus was a prophet of how to live and honor God, but not the son of God is the definition of Islam. Except for practice rules. When to pray and where to go etc. I speak of the philosophy or spirit.

A rabbi once said that "an eye for an eye" actually meant that the punishment should not exceed the crime.
