Tokyo Monday - TEL down 4%

snip:

"Memory chip testing device maker Advantest Corp down 300 yen or 3.33 percent at 8,710 yen, falling close to its lowest price so far this year of 8,650 yen, marked on July 9. Some other semiconductor-related shares including the country's largest chipmaker, Toshiba Corp , were also down on Monday morning on fears of a prolonged slump in demand. Toshiba was down six yen or 1.05 percent at 565. Semiconductor equipment maker Tokyo Electron Ltd was down 290 yen or 4.1 percent at 6,950. Analysts have said chipmakers would have to trim their capital investment by 30 to 40 percent to bring production capacity in line with falling demand."
