If I talk (and I talk loud!) people in the room will ask me to lower my voice since I'm disturbing their conversation.

CDMA does a similar thing: In order to avoid interferring with other calls the TX level in CDMA goes down. Hence the more calls handled the lower the TX level. The smaller the footprint and the indoor coverage.

A site -in a wireless context- is the place where the Base Station Terminal (BTS) is Physically located. The BTS has the transceivers and the antennas and its ancillary equipment. From there it is backhauled to the Base Station Controller (BSC) - a hub of all the BTS's in this cluster.

From the BSC site, the traffic is routed to the Mobile Switching Center (MSC). From there it is interconnected to other MSC's of the other operators and the PSTN.
