GG, that was very typical Kiwi. We really do have sheds, dodgy welding, LPG tanks, little red cans of methanol [you can see his in his photo of the workshop]. Yes, we do use PVC piping for such ideas and yes, there are significant numbers of injuries and deaths from minor conflagrations and bits of flying metal.

We had to move house because my wife was nervous about my Graviton Spin Reversal System under the house with a methanol-diesel emulsion-powered engine for thrust.

Thanks for the link. I started to get homesick but then realized I am at home; cyberspace is local travel although it feels distant.

GG, that Jet Powered Beer Cooler obviously has cachet in the bloke world. Dave Barry reviewed the science behind it here: miami.com

Perhaps Irwin is going to demonstrate something similar with the Globalstar demo for jet aircraft. With the jet engines they have on board a 747, they should be able to cool a LOT of beer really fast.
