Even assuming BMDs sole purpose is to provide corporate welfare (which is not the case) it is still preferable to your alternatives. Under corporate welfare, people are earning, occupied and employed rather than rioting and robbing. They also learn habits and skills which will be of use to them in later endeavors. Youre method is destructive od people and society. Corporate welfare is not. If someone is of sound mind and able-bodied and unwilling to work, let them starve.
