They may not be doing well in subject matter. They are learning a great deal about deportment. If you don't like what they are bringing to society from the public schools you should take a stand on standards. When you support entitlement programs you can't complain when the "entitled" behave as a special class for which the rules are different and for which poor and inappropriate performance is sanctioned.

I see much improvement in our suburban schoolyards. So maybe there is hope for the next generation. There is still cruelty, but it is not systemically supported any longer. The "kids will be kids" attitude about bullying and violence is a thing of the past in most districts. Hooray!
