Robert, >> I'm plotting a return trip to OZ

What is OZ?

Our trip was great. We spent most of our time in Melbourne, but we did spend some time in rural Australia. We went to Warrnambool by train from Melbourne. We stayed at a place called the Manor Gums and I highly recommend it. (They are on the net.) Irene, at the Manor Gums picked us up at the station and got a person named Josephine to chauffeur us around while we were there. She has a one person business to take folks around the area to see the sites. It was great. What a place, my husband left his digital camera on a table where we had lunch and a half hour later he noticed he did not have his camera, we went back and it was there. When you get on the trams in Melbourne the kids get up and give the old folks their seats. Turn on the radio and you have 50's music. Just like going back in time. The food is very inexpensive as well as the hotel rooms. The only thing I noticed that was the same price as we pay here was gasoline for the cars, other wise it is like going back 20 years. Their dollar has not lost any of its purchasing power. US$ .25 cents for a lb. of tomatoes and I just paid $3.00 here. US$ .25 cents for pineapples and $5.49 here. Oh my has Greenspan done in the purchasing power of our $.

The theater scene is also great in Melbourne and they do have one of the top 10 restaurants in the world there. We tested it and I agree. The restaurant is on the 35th floor of the Hotel Sofitel.

I think if I go back I would add Perth to my itinerary. We met some people from there and it sounds like a quite place to visit.
