It seems to me that there response indicates that given what they are currently dealing with, they are not prepared to take on this whole line of issues and that the best thing to do is avoid the path all together by not attending and not delving into the issues. Which is what they did.


I agree. That's probably what's going on. They don't want to have to address the issue of reparations to African Americans. No sense risking being distracted by that issue or pissing off that constituency any more than it already is. And, of course, they consider that to be US business, anyway, and not something they want to air in front of others.

The Zionism as racism question is kind of a rehash and probably not as problematic for the US, but it may not be something suitable for discussing openly when the Middle East is so hot as it could throw a monkey wrench in negotiations.
