The thought might be that if we just don't go but don't talk about it much the whole event might fail to attract much attention.


You may be right in that it's just too early for an explanation. Negotiations to get rid of the offending agenda items are still going on, it seems. So I'm prepared to wait. I only got into this discussion because JLA asserted that no explanation was required.
