I haven't read any books that completely defined capitalism or socialism, but if equal opportunity was in the credo for capitalism, it certainly was ignored in America's first 150 yrs. It wasn't until Teddy Roosevelt, that trust busting, and as an outreach, equal opportunity laws were passed. Equal protection , and equal opportunity were part of the constitution, but that isn't the bible for capitalism.
