The idea that the concept of decency should be considered "ridiculous" seems ridiculous to me and quite a sad commentary. JLA

Males do not need much encouragement to predatory behavior, and females do not need to feel obliged to be exploited. It is fine to have trial runs at relationships, with sex, that do not pan out, but it is unwise to divorce sex and affection entirely.......

It is sort of ridiculous. But people are ridiculous. Decency is about public moral values, which are always going to be at odds with what most of us feel- because they are an average. Some of us are more liberal than the average and some of us are less liberal. But what the public is articulating to teens is a very mixed message. Every movie I see gives teens the message that sex is fun and pretty much without consequences. Television gives the same message. It would be idiotic to think that most teens will refrain from having sex with the media messages we are sending them (or with the examples they see at home.)
