I am quite lucky in this transaction. It is a friend's home and I helped him get some money out of the market in late 99. He is offering us the house at around 15% below its real value. Pretty much exactly what he has in it with no appreciation for 4 years.

It is as no brainer as they come. It is above my original price range but it's SUCH a deal. :)

There I feel a bit better now.

The house which I was referring to is very near a newly discovered uranium problem. It is on the outskirts of a area in which several wells were found to have very high levels of uranium (naturally occurring). Needless to say people are very concerned and a stigma has set in, even though city water is available.

Due to this we have elected to continue our search.

We were ohhhh so close.
