I think you may be referring the First Call reports which are linked to Yahoo rather than Yahoo itself. The detailed quote for qcom from Yahoo Finance shows ttm earnings of -.46, which leads me to believe they are including one time events and the results from discontinued operations.

My remark to John was intended to be of a more generic nature, Huey. I was implying that the "average investor" who accepts published data at face value is at a disadvantage when competing with those who perform rigorous dd.
