I didn''t know we were talking about 'teens.' I was reacting to brees' comment, "I have never met a young man or woman who took a stand on abstinence until marriage who didn't speak of it as an honorable and good choice and who didn't seem happy about it." People get married at all sorts of ages. Teenagers shouldn't be getting married, imo, although I missed doing it myself by three weeks and it has worked out very well indeed.

Do you think that it is 'indecent' for unmarried 19 year olds to have sex? How about 18? Do you feel the same about male and female 19 year olds? How far, sexually, would you say an 18 or 19 year old can go sexually without qualifying for the 'indecent' label from you? What acts are decent, what indecent? Is passionate kissing decent? Is kissing and touching above the clothes decent? How about touching beneath the clothes? How about naked, with other acts but no penetration? Is masturbation accompanied by the fantasy of one's choice okay, if you're 19? What masturbation/fantasy aids aren't indecent for 19 year olds?

I assume you can see from these questions that I think you are being unrealistic.

Here is my strongest argument in favor of not labeling as 'indecent' premarital sex for, let's say for purposes of this discussion, those 18 and over who strongly desire it:

If they buy the story that the only way they can get sex and still be decent is to get married, they'll confuse lust with love and marry prematurely, thus turning a crush into a potential tragedy.
