But Intel had the big OEMs behind them, using their server platforms. AMD has BOXX and Alienware. Can you imagine some Fortune 500 company buying a server from BOXX? The other thing is that Dell or Compaq small servers, in the beginning, could "tag along" into companies with PCs with those brand names on them. There are no AMD based PCs with any corporate presence for this to take place for them.
