Pragmatism is not the best reason to admonish people to behave with care, respect, and dignity as sexual beings. Even if the person were sterile, and somehow invulnerable to STDs, there are issues of maturity, the proper treatment of people, self- respect, and so on that are far more crucial to sexuality, precisely because it is powerful and is such a force in shaping personality. You do not handle dynamite cavalierly, and you do not deal with sex as if the issues surrounding it were mainly hygenic. Decency is a very good word for behaving with responsibility in one's sexual life......
