Perhaps we should explicitely qualify the type of "average" meant: index-average (of say valuation, y2y performance, PE) as opposed to yahoo-or plain-vanilla average. Takes care of financial and mental sanity (g).

What about getting these two alternatives together/focussed by saying INTC and MSFT are both too expensive? In my minds eye I see Wile E Coyote that long second before he lands in the puff of dust. Adding further visible names would eventually yield a nice portfolio of not big-cap, but big-PE positions asking to be shorted.
