Tony, Re: So what does Anand do? He reports on Tualatin in desktop, by far its third priority. If he doesn't produce a mobile bench for T soon, he's looking more and more like an AMDer.

The problem is that Anand (or anyone else) can't benchmark mobile processors properly. You would need laptops with identical setups and that's almost impossible since every vendor has different priorities. E.g. imagine two almost identical laptops except for their battery -- how could you compare the power consumption of the CPUs with them?

There are too many variables in laptop design to just compare one of them (e.g. CPU performance or power consumption). You can only compare overall laptop designs. And that was never anything Anand did. For that kind of articles you have to look at PC World, PC magazine etc. And never make the mistake to get anything out of them except that one laptop (not CPU) is better than another. Even that is difficult to determine: Would you like a 3kg laptop with 2hrs battery time better or a 4kg laptop (additional battery) with 4hrs battery time? It depends on your personal preferences.
