Dear Dale:

In your example, what do you do with the older CPUs? I would rather install one, just like for main memory, and get the other when I needed it (maybe never). Most server jobs go much faster with more memory than a faster CPU anyway. For database work would you think 256 MB with two 700 Xeon 2MBs would be faster than 1 700 Xeon 2MB and 4GB of memory? I think that the second one would be faster in most cases even though it is cheaper.
