<think HM earnings of $0.08 will shore up xau hui?>

No. Average cash cost per ounce was impressive at $157. But Cash flow from operations was 2M less than the second quarter a year ago. What were the earnings based on? There was a "a $5.6 million gain from
the sale of discontinued sulfur operations and oil and gas assets in
the Gulf of Mexico and a $6.3 million after-tax non-cash gain generated
by the relative strengthening of the Australian and Canadian dollars
against the US dollar."

Those are gangbuster numbers that HM put up, especially compared to a year ago. But as to whether that will shore up XAU and HUI... I don't know. Sometimes it seems like the POG and the gold stocks are on different frequencies and you have to wait until they get in sync before there's any significant movement. Until then, the market seems to either ignore good news or celebrate it one day and forget it the next. I don't sense any imminent rally or downdraft, but then again... this is the gold market.
