Chivalry is generally called into play when one sees the weak attacked by the strong. It is hard to get all chivalrous when you see a person being attacked by a mosquito. One might help swat the mosquito, as a purely friendly act, but it wouldn't be appropriate to haul out the plate-mail and claymore and challenge the bug to a duel.

Hope you won't be too hard on me for this.

Of course not. I still have a sentimental attachment to chivalry.

My interest was in deflecting the discussion from me. A couple of more subtle comments were not effective so I tried a more direct approach. I've been quite the center attention for the last week or so and I'm uncomfortable with that. I'd rather discuss issues and ideas.
