Several recent surveys by Republican pollsters suggest that the party's focus on a sweeping tax cut and the Bush administration's widely criticized environmental decisions have cost Republicans some support among women and widened Democrats' advantage among them. A poll last week by Public Opinion Strategies showed that while men, by 43 percent to 37 percent, said they were more likely to vote for a Republican than a Democrat, women were more likely to do the opposite by 47 percent to 32 percent. "This is not happy data," said Bill McInturff, the Republican pollster who conducted the survey. Mr. McInturff said the size of the so-called gender gap in his survey was not enormous and might turn out to be something of a blip. But it was nonetheless consistent with the results of monthly surveys that David Winston, another Republican pollster, has been presenting to House Republican leaders.

American: Can't you see you can win no converts with these kinds of outlandish claims. The Dems will try to use the situation for political points and the Reps will try to take credit for reducing the problem, etc. Now if you could get over these notions you have you might have been able to see the problem and do what many have and that was to buy energy stocks. That way you could have made money on the situation. I suppose belief in conspiracy is psychologically comforting but not it is not helpful in a search for the truth. Little joe My friend none of this has to do with politics it is supply and demand.
