<Turkey>

Wayne, of course it's not a mine yet, but a darn good deposit. Turkey is considered slow permit wise, but not really unfriendly. They are very location sensitive, and will be influenced by the locals. In otherwords don't build mines on seaside tourist villages with Hellenic ruins nearby. I understand local support for Kisladag to be excellent and the site to be benign.

(1) My brother is now living in Turkey. What he has to say about the country backs up what Russ has said. I was concerned about the country as well but that concern has eased after talking to a couple of geos who work there.

(2) National bank is blowing off stock and has been doing so for quite awhile. I do not have access to the numbers but National is on the sell side much more than the buy and is very willing to hit the bids. I think part of the drift down can be attributed to Nationals selling. Sure would be nice to know the source for this stock.

(3) I was looking at some mining company data yesterday. Good numbers -2% copper in many grab samples,easy access, the drilling that has been done by a major shows that the mineralization is up to twenty meters thick from surface and the material should be easy to mine from the surface. The big problem they have is getting any cash to continue drilling. With the prices of metal being so low it seems there is no interest in investing in exploration of any kind. This lack of investment interest will continue for awhile I believe. Even the majors are getting into a cash protection mode.

(4) Teck is laying off 91 workers at Trail. If you discount the power sales the company is still making money but not a great amount.From nosing around I gather they expect prices of commodities to drop further.

Got to fly
