I am merely declining to establish marriage as the only place for sexual activity. I think it is the best, but I also know that even those college students who are trying to save themselves do just about everything short of coitus, and therefore are having sex anyway, while maintaining technical virginity. I know that pretty much all of my friends and acquaintances succumbed to pressure to surrender virginity rather then get stuck with a doofus or not get engaged at all. I know that almost all "did it" when they got engaged, reasoning that they were going to get married anyway, and that some of those broke up. And this was largely the behavior among the pious. Those without especial religious attachment or fervor did not put themselves through half the trouble. So, I do not think I am absorbing all situations and validating them, I think I am taking an indulgent attitude to having sexual relations with someone who is a boyfriend/girlfriend in whom one has a serious interest, and suggesting that it would be an accomplishment to set the bar that high.......
