Nice try yourself. After July the gouging peaked, then again after Bush took power in the winter. Remember this speech Clinton gave in September when he was forced to release Strategic Reserves? clinton6.nara.gov And notice that they had Clinton snookered too. He doesn't even know for sure there is a shortage but is relying on energy industry experts (the National Petroleum Council who are supposed to be bi-partisan but are now Bush-Cheney's power elite) for info. And remember how Bush criticized Clinton for tapping the reserves and told us how he was the one qualified to fix the problem? "Fix" it all all right. He and his buddies created it to begin with.
