I think they have to settle for less since bonds rating not that good.

Dave, I'd rather have the preferred than the common right now. If I'm going to sit tight for a few years and see if the jerks from Bell Labs can figure out how to turn brainpower in to money... which you learn on the job, not by Ph.D.thesis... well, I'd just as soon collect the dividend while I wait. It seems the sale of the preferred went so gangbusters they are issuing more. Converts at $7.48... just to mess the options traders up, I guess. I'd be interested to know how many shares of common were sold to buy the preferred! But we'll never know. :^) Web
