Ascii Art predates HTML on the internet and used to be quite common before we all got corrupted by gifs, jpegs, bitmaps etcetera. I saw hundreds of messages on the SI HTML test thread where SI members tryed ever trick in the book to get color into the body of the text, change fonts at will, embed java script etcetera, and fail, in an attempt to liven up their SI posts. Then I remembered the lost art of Ascii Art and went looking for it. Here's a good link to a number of Ascii Art archives and collections. geocities.com Lots of good stuff to cut and paste. All you have to do is figure out an on topic caption of some sort and use the < PRE > tag to force a fixed font. We don't need a lot of fancy Java and HTML tricks to jazz up these boards.
