National Record Mart Begins Going Out of Business Sales On November 23 At 113 Stores
CHICAGO, Nov 21, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Hilco Merchant Resources has been engaged to conduct "Going Out Of Business Sales" at all 113 National Record Mart stores located in: California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Guam. (Check attached store list for a location near you.) An excellent selection of holiday gifts for music buffs of all ages will be available at the closing stores.
Operating under the names of Music Oasis, Music X, National Record Mart, Vibes Music, Tempo, House of Music and Waves, liquidation discounts will be given on merchandise such as VHS and DVD movies, musical audiocassettes and CDs, video and audio tapes, home and portable storage cases, posters, sheet music and many other entertainment items. Slumping sales, struggles with existing debt and tough price wars with companies such as Wal-Mart and Best Buy forced the company to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August 2001.
