I owned Legg Mason Value for several years and sold it last year when they murdered me with taxable capital gains distributions. There was one big hit mid-year and then another big hit at year end. They surprised me with the first one, but forewarned, I moved quickly and escaped the second.

If you want an excellent value fund, check out Weitz Value, WVALX. Especially look at the consistency of the returns.
