Excess capacity may bring capex for expansion to a standstill but investment for new technology
could be continued for several reasons:

1 cut costs
2 improove product to gain market share

If new technology emerges then investment must be made in order to keep up

An example: Today GGNS announced that their B to B
ratio is 1.1 They are shipping ALD equiipment
and gaining customers who are adopting
the technology.

I'm with you Gottfried. I think everyone here including John Q Public would admit Semiconductor Capital Equipment stocks will move even higher long term. As for tomorrow? Saying the bounce is probably temporary, or that the upper Bollinger Band has been penetrated, hardly seems like suggesting you, me, or anyone else knows for sure what will happen tomorrow. I just bet we are right....

Short term...
