Comcast had a pretty interesting CC. They are upping guidance for @Home subs by 200,000 to 950,000 before the end of the year. They are upping capex spending for cable modems and rebuild by 125 million and 175 million respectively. They are signing up 7,800 new subs weekly which is up from 4,000 weekly in Q2 last year. 8 million homes are now in the upgraded areas which is sixty percent of their cable territory. The demand for @Home increased even though they upped the price to $44.95 (renting the modem). They will have 1200 retail outlets that carry @Home displays and quick start kits by the end of the year up from 960. They are seeing one half the customer contact rate primarily because so much of their cable plant has been upgraded. There is no change in the churn rate.
