"When will the trouble free DDR be out? What do you think
2 qtr's?"

The question is ill-formulated.

It seems that PC1600 (DDR-200) is trouble-free AFAIK.

The PC2100 (aka DDR-266) has some hurdles to overcome
in heavy multi-DIMM configurations, if that what you mean;

PC2400 is freely available for experiments, for "PC enthusiasts" at least;

What next? PC2700? PC3000?

The board design experience is building continuously.
So the answer to your question could be "Never"
:) :) :)
