They already have a K-9

You can define "generation" any way you want to. AMD brags about having "7th-generation" and "8th-generation" technologies, but some have questioned whether Athlon should even be considered seventh-generation. No doubt similar arguments can be made for the Willamette processor, but that only advances my point.
