The bottom line to most of the challenges to traditional values and principle here becomes "cause we aint havin' e'nuf fun yet Brees, why do you create these outrageous straw men? Is the whole world so black and white? Can't you see that there is a continuum between wanton promiscuity and sex for procreation? Perhaps when one positions oneself on the extreme end of any continuum, the rest of the continuum looks black to one's lonely white... Karen

I just lost a long post to you on this subject. I will try something briefer: Most copulation does not involve the possibility of procreation, and most people would accept a couple getting married and planning to hold off on children for a couple of years. I am not trying to "have fun", I am happily married. I do not think that common sense morality can do more than recommend marriage as the ideal. I do not think it can establish the illicitness of sex within the context of a loving, devoted relationship that may fall short of lifelong commitment. So far, you have not persuaded me that there is a principle involved to support your view........
