"My guess is that the latter group have few STDs or pregnancies."

Neocon, You are way smarter than that. I recently heard a statistic on the radio that said 50% of adults now show positive for herpes. This was from a liberal talk show that was having a discussion on epidemics. So lets eliminate adults who have been monogomous and presume "promiscuous" people are a small percentage of the overall. Remember this includes persons from seventy to ninety, who have likely been less active over the last thirty years than our generation. That is a very high percentage of people who have likely had a few "going steady" relationships prior to marriage or between marriages. That statistic suggests there is a much higher percentage of people when you include all STDs. At what point do you consider it an epidemic? At what point do you join the left and start pooh poohing it all together? It looks like you are close.

It seems the birth rate for illegitimacy is now thirty percent. How many of the mom's of these kids thought they were going steady with the sperm donar? I would guess a very high percentage of them expected their children to have a legitimate father when the time came. How about when your son becomes one of these fathers? If you are one of the rare exceptions and hold him responsible you can't call that a standard. And...are you really that bad at guessing?
