One of the things that they and we must be cautious of is exactly those concessions. Here in the US, it is a common belief that compromise is honorable and a good thing. In the Arab culture it is often viewed as a sign of weakness. This was demonstrated, when Israel made concessions regarding Jerusalem. All it did was embolden the Palestinians further. A Good book to understand the issue is called From Beirut to Jerusalem by Thomas Friedman . Explains history and culture quite well. A few years old, but nothing has really changed. Well said.
