I don't particularly assign any import to N or n in nation. As to a Jewish synagogue, I don't see why one would assume that America is a Nation that has principles based upon the teachings of a Jew who was a Rabbi would be found to be offensive. Facts or truth should not be fuddy stated. But someone could state America is a Christian Nation and say it to offend and it can also be said to give no offense. To misstate the obvious is condescending. I don't claim to be a politician. I'm an engineer and I preach what I practice.

I don't see you as quibbling. I see the discussion as further defining how we feel. To me mis-speak in a land where we celebrate free speech for some minor PC comfort is to dismantle our constitution and act as though we feel that the values our country has been built on are not important.

That is why I feel we should evaluate very carefully whenever we are going to curtail our free speech. There is divisive and there is condescending. Condescension is far more divisive in the long run.
