Committed is the key word here which I think you just slipped in there as a filler. Otherwise this statement means nothing.

SAVE for the harm people outside the relationship wish to inflict on themselves by wringing their hands and bruising their fingers over this.

Well, you know that is second only to carpal tunnel syndrome in terms of serious hand injuries. And this is a public health issue we're talking about here. Kind of like a vicarious STD of the hands.
