Tokyo Electron cuts sales & earnings forecast for six months ending September 30, 2001 and for the year ending March 31, 2002:

Reasons for revision

Demand for semiconductors has rapidly decreased, due to the global economic
stagnation triggered by a slow down in the US economy. Semiconductor manufacturers
cut their investment plans and the business environment has become very harsh.
Therefore, the sales and profit from our semiconductor production equipment fell short
of the financial forecast made on 18 May, 2001 and the company has decided to revise
its financial forecast.

I have been accumulating long positions in techs, from mid-June through mid-July. Today, I started selling those
long positions.

I'd hate to know your definition of a short position....one day? DB
