I haven't been able to keep up with all the posts, but I have yet to read about the election committee's thoughts of making election day a national holiday. I am personally against this, because a lot of Americans (including myself) like to get totally trashed on National Holidays. The last thing we need is a bunch of wasted Americans going to the polls. If the confusion was bad before, what would it be like then.

Almost seems that what came out of congress was calculated to get the LEAST economic bang for the buck. I think Bush got rolled by the democrats.

You should be grateful at least that he took money out of the beast's trough (i.e. the government) so that they have less to waste money on.

The economic stimulus thing was a crock, yes. If that had been the intention, the big cuts would be NOW, when they are needed, rather than a decade from now.

I think his critics were correct on this one. It was a cut for his rich buddies and a stalking horse to get estate taxes killed off.
