Mike, I still think it is a critical number, or at least a "critical band" (2052/2084, or possibly 2105 as the top). This is an area that stopped advances and declines for quite some times.

Could be it's the "way" that this 2078 was taken out... another morning gap up from the futures, then it tops out within 15 min of the open and trends down all day long until the last hr, then with the help of short covering pops back up but closes below the open... not a rip-roarin rally, actually a negative close from the open.

Previous couple days the same thing, right at the first of the month and aided by the MER semi upgrade while SOX right at a resistance level, not too convincing
