I guess I don't think it will die either. The fluorinated hydrocarbons have advantages over the hemoglobin substitutes. Neither are anywhere near as good as good-old-fashioned blood however. Alliance could get rich if there is a war (and the army needs blood). Otherwise I'm not sure alliance will go anywhere. A big problem is (1) the trial had a bad design and therefore toxicity (and the control group did too well) (2) patients still need an O2 mask with fluorinated hydrocarbons -- hence its hard to manage on the battlefield.
