........the latest Washington Post/ABC News poll found. It showed 59 percent of Americans approving Bush's job performance, including a whopping 91 percent of self-identified Republicans. Those polled expressed a general satisfaction with Bush's demeanor and character, but considerable disagreement with his policies on energy, the environment, Social Security and some other domestic issues. Even Bush's signature achievement of his first six months – the 11-year, $1.35 trillion tax cut – registered deeply mixed opinions.
