(b) Whether or not you consider the rule stupid is immaterial. Play by the rules or take a hike.

This particualr rule is one that it is easy to violate without knowing that you are violating it. It is also one that if enforced would lead to some very good contributers to SI getting suspended. I usu. won't post 20 messages in 6 hours but if I have 500+ messages to catch up on I'm not going to count every post as I reply. Also it seems there is a minor bug that causes me to have to read a message thread to the end if I am not going to lose my place.
If I have 100 message to read on LWP and I read 50 of them, then I close my browser or go to another site, then come back to LWP the subjectmaks pointers will often count all the messages on LWP (or another thread) as having been read. If they don't do this they will sometimes count none of my read messages as having been read. If I read to the end of a thread and then hit subjectmarks this problem usually does not occur. Because of this it makes little sense for me to stop reading and replying when my post count reaches 20. If you or someone else wants to report me fine but its a stupid rule and I usally make little effort to follow stupid rules unless I risk harsh punishment for not following them. I've never been suspended by SI, but if SI wants to suspend people for contributing they are probably hurting themselves more then anyone else.
