Jim,

re: You have a way of insulting people before asking a question.

You have a way of inviting skepticism.

All of your points boil down to two issues, sub $1K PC's and Rambus.

Grove built Intel into one of the worlds most profitable companies. Did he make mistakes along the line? Yes. Is he to blame for the sub $1K mistake (which Intel recovered from, in fact knocked AMD out of the space), I suspect he was. Was Rambus his baby, I don't know, it doesn't sound like Grove, painting himself in a corner. But regardless, Intel seems to have survived Rambus, get over it.

Mr. Barrett, on the other hand, has managed to spend shareholder profits on marginally profitable companies, and then turn them into total losers. To the point where his crack decisions have about turned Intel, with the second greatest technology franchise in history, to a profit deficit.

I suppose as super-Droid you would like Barrett better.

John

Agree with your points.

Also add that Grove has always fancied himself to be a visionary, not unlike Bill Gates, always looking for the next killer app to help to sell CPUs. He would have done much better concentrating on making better CPUs instead.
