if what you say is true, then the economic impact was already reported properly and there was no need to add phony dollars to goose it up. this is PRECISELY my point.

if, on the other hand, the increased state of "well being" doesn't increase economic productivity (dollars created / hour labor), then why should a measure of economic productivity care?

wrt solow, i'd have to read his arguments thoroughly before granting an opinion one way or the other.

gdp growth using the old measurement system grew faster than it did historically since the use of computers became widespread. not much, but a bit. i'm giving the benefit of the doubt and saying computers had something to do with the increase. however, it is just my assumption.
