Because your party seduced them with welfare. They did not move to the Dems until the '60s.

For many decades after the Civil War, blacks wanted nothing to do with the Democratic Party. It was the party of treason, secession, and slavery. To make matters worse, until the '60s the Democrats successfully blocked civil rights legislation in Congress. Finally national impatience grew until the northen Dems were forced to desert their southern colleagues and, in combination with Republicans, civil rights legislation moved through Congress.

Aren't Dems taught US history?

Actually, they used to vote overwhelmingly Republican (when allowed to vote), until the New Deal Era, when the National Democratic Party (as opposed to state parties) committed itself to "constituency group politics", including the buying of black votes.........
