I dont know !

The constant pace of chip development and innovation is always fraught with huge technical gambles. Intel and TI have passed up on the SOI gamble for now, while Motorola and IBM are hedging their bets on SOI. A whole hearted endorsement by other chip vendors would have reduced the risk perception.

Time alone will tell whether this particular gamble by AMD will pay off.
