Out of curiousity, Allan, do you have any bearish alternates for either the Compx or GE? I only ask cuz you've posted the bullish counts (which right now have to seem like the preferred, I'd say), but are remaining cautious (which also makes sense to me). Is there a count you have in mind for the "cautious" stance?

Seems like the recent jello makes any counting pretty darn hard. But that's why I'm me and you're you!

Ameritrader

8/1/01,38.02%
8/2/01,44.06%

Interestingly these gap/crap and comeback rallies are being cautiously bought. Are the ameritraders finally going to get caught in a trap?...I doubt it<g>

Fed continues to pump...

from Hahn re: Fed...

Please watch the Open Market Operations. app.ny.frb.org In a nutshell, anything over $11 billion will cause triple digit gains in the DJIA. Conversely, anything under $3 billion suggests sideways to lower markets, because the markets are very dependent on daily infusions of liquidity. What I watch are the longer term (28 days or permanent) injections, even if they are small quantities ($2 to $3 billion). This really emboldens the bulls to take prices higher. The overnight repos are just that...very temporary and maybe only replacing expiring paper. The most important things to watch are the big numbers at the points of market breakdown. Unfortunately, sometimes the reports come hours after the manipulation.

Best,

John

What's your bearish alternate? This 'correction' has retraced more than 61.8% now.
